Southeast Asia/Kenya : Day 41 : Volcano

There was “minor” volcano activity near me this evening!

Translation. Note: Alert Level 1 (Low Level of Volcanic Unrest)

Funny timing because yesterday we dove through an area of bubbles coming up from the ground. The divemaster had me touch the sand: it was hot!

After we exited he explained it was from the nearby volcano.

I did some reading, and it looks like there’s a fair amount of activity from that volcano. This is just not normal for me!

Anyway…. today was the last day of diving here. Up close to a seahorse!

There were a lot of stingrays, but we mostly ignored them. The goal is small stuff!

Little fish who did not want me disturbing their beer-bottle home.

So let’s bother a crab while it’s eating instead.

Finding clear animals is a superpower the divemaster has.

Had more trouble getting clean shots on a few of today’s dives because the current was pretty strong.

Close up of some soft coral.

This little fella was so happy to see me!

As always, nudis.

I head to Manila Thursday then fly out Friday morning for Fiji and the “official” dive trip. Can’t wait to see if I can put my new skills into action. It’ll be weird not being on a private dive. I’ll have to share the ocean with other people. Yuck!
