Five hour layover in Minneapolis. Luckily there was a lounge I could spend it in. A most unusual lounge. It had golf simulator rooms! I didn’t play, but enjoyed watching people take it very, very seriously.

The flight from Minnesota to Paris was uneventful except that the USB socket in my seat didn’t work unless there was downward pressure applied. Had to do some quick thinking.

In Bordeaux I stayed in a Château up the street from my boss’s house. I was the only occupant. Nice quite afternoon naps for me!

The property had been turned into a winery. Bottles and barrel decorations everywhere.

The view out my window? Wonderful!

About 20 minutes walking along a path and then the street to get to where our meetings took place. On two mornings, I rode bikes along a parallel path. My boss is a better cyclist than me! I struggled to keep up. It was proper exercise.

No photos of his house (privacy!) but here’s a view from the side looking out across his and his neighbor’s yard.

On the way home, through Paris, the Olympics were on display!

Then made it to Nairobi. I got through passport control quickly. My bags weren’t lost. A small traffic jam. But then I could FINALLY watch the new Star Wars show: The Acolyte.

The rest of the weekend was getting settled. Unpacking, laundry, groceries, converting my Safaricom SIM to an eSIM, booking dives next weekend, and meal prep. Salads…

And chicken burrito bowls…

Now to wind down and get rest before the exhausting work week starts.
