Spain/Austria 2024 : Day 14 : No New iPhone

It was a rainy last day. Most of the day. The morning started nice.

I pulled out my camera and snapped a few photos of rooftops, including the nearby city hall.

I wanted to get a new iPhone while I’m in Europe. The US models don’t have physical SIM card slots any more. I did a little more research before going to the Apple store, and learned that the European models don’t have the same antenna as the US version — the US has some faster towers that the European models can’t take advantage of. Sigh. So I’ll get a new phone when I’m back home and figure out the Kenyan SIM situation when I go there in a few months.

Lunch was a Wiener Schnitzel. (Though my phone really only wanted to focus on the fries.)

One of my final views of the trams that got me around town so easily. Austin needs these!

In the evening, I went for a walk and ended up at a street vendor for a bratwurst. Online, this spot was only rated 1/5 stars. Well deserved. Not the tastiest, but they’re everywhere so I had to give it a try.

I spent the intervening time doing laundry and packing. Just need to put a few last things in my bags and then I’ll be ready.

Not looking forward to the long flight. Very much looking forward to sleeping in my bed.
