Today’s activity was visiting Haus des Meeres, an aquarium 30 minutes walk from my Airbnb. It’s housed in an old WW2 defense tower.
Although now there’s a climbing wall on one side.
It’s more than just an aquarium. It houses multiple floors of land animals as well. Snakes…
Turtles with their heating lamps…
Large enclosures with birds and monkeys moving about…
Lemurs in a room with a lot of signs saying to be quiet…
And, of course, fishes!
On the top floor is a cafe with desserts.
And an outdoor, 360° viewing platform. Here we see a few skyscrapers, clearly not a normal part of the city.
And a better look at the very-not-regular layout of buildings. No grid design here!
Took a long walk back, stopping by an ice skating park.
Then back to my apartment and a nap. Dinner was Döner kebab (very gyro-like) and fries. Now I need to plan for tomorrow.
