I got the lazy day I needed!
I woke up around 8, got out of bed around 8:30, dressed just long enough to get some groceries, then put my PJs back on. The walk to the grocery store isn’t far, but there isn’t much to separate pedestrians from cars.

But I did my part for the economy. Including supporting that up-and-coming Coca-Cola company. Ha!

Next to the grocery store is a little bakery so I got a cinnamon roll for breakfast.

Then back to the couch! For most of the morning there was a loud, regular, “swooshing” sound. Turns out the Kenyan broom is super loud!
I barely moved from the couch all day. Did a little work (online compliance training, yuck), zoned out on YouTube and Reddit, took a nap, that sort of thing. I made a big todo list, but had zero energy.
Got hungry in the evening and decided to see what KFC is like here. A few folks suggested it, and I remember watching a video about how KFC is better outside the US. I also remember meeting a guy from Egypt while at a conference in San Francisco many years ago and it was his only mission to find KFC in the US.
Ordered it on UberEats and 15 minutes later I can confidently say… meh. I haven’t had KFC in the US for a long time so maybe I don’t know how bad it’s gotten?

Back to napping and doing nothing, then it got dark and I decided to make a veggie stew for future dinners. (I’m not sure the motivation was to not have to eat fast food again, but maybe….)

Now I’m in bed, under the mosquito net — soon as the sun went down five of the nasty things came in — going to read for an hour or so and then call it a night. Hopefully energy will return tomorrow!
