I now know what a mediocre dive center looks like. They weren’t bad, or unsafe, just light on amenities. Previous dive shops would have snacks between dives, would clean the gear for you, would acknowledge that this is a vacation trip. Not this one. The message I got to start things off was: if you want water, you must bring it yourself. Wow.
The visibility wasn’t great.

The boat’s anchor line was bizarrely huge.

My poor GoPro couldn’t handle most of this trip because of the darkness.
Swam through an extremely narrow and dark cavern.

I spotted a small Lion Fish, but the other divers were ahead of me and I couldn’t get their attention.

Lots of light and shadow.

Toward the end of the second dive we went through a narrow trench. Two things to notice. 1. My alarm going off telling me we’re shallow and thinking it’s time for a safety stop before ascent. 2. The current stopping me from going forward, even pushing me backward a little.
Everyone finished around the same time to get on the boat. I guess that means my air consumption is at least average.

More dives tomorrow with a different dive center. Not until the afternoon, so I get to sleep in.
