It’s very flat here. Not the big mountain landscapes like where we’ve been.

Three bald eagle sightings. One normal, up high. The other two were very unusual: on the ground.



Kenai National Wildlife Refuge had great information, but too many mosquitoes to get into the woods.


Walked along a boardwalk looking for salmon swimming up the river. We saw one (maybe two) finally, but they’re like dark shadows on a slightly lighter dark background. (Don’t stress your eyes on the picture, they aren’t there. It’s just a sample of how impossible it is to see.)


Plenty of people fishing though. And lots of them catching something!



At one stop we ran into a huge line of tents, RVs, and people all along the beach. No idea what they’re doing there.

Food at a few local places with a lot of … um … character
