London : Day 2 : East and West

I stood in both the Eastern and Western Hemispheres today!

But first I got confused when the two tube lines I’d figured out yesterday weren’t running.

After standing at this sign for way longer than needed and searching my phone for how to get where I needed to go, I found a route that involved a nice long ferry ride. Who doesn’t love a ferry? People who make bad life choices don’t. That’s who.

Nearly an hour later and I reached my destination: Greenwich. You know, the place from where TIME is measured.

The Prime Meridian runs through the old Royal Observatory. So you can stand in one hemisphere…

…and then the other…

I spent the afternoon going through their museum, then the Maritime Museum just down the hill. Some more time at the Greenwich Market (lots of markets around here, and they all seem to be “world famous”), then a short walk to a restaurant nearby for steak pie with my friend and her family. Following dinner, they took me back to their place about an hour north so we could get an early move on tomorrow.
