Today we drove from Coffs Harbour to Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast with a stop at Byron Bay.
First thing in the morning I went down to the ocean, looking for some photo opportunities. Unfortunately, cloud cover made everything dull and uninteresting. So I went back to sleep instead. Then a little chai and muffin across the street.

And a visitor by the door when I got back.

Then on to Byron Bay. No, we did not get high and go surfing — though that’s what Byron Bay is known for — but we did have a great burger for lunch at Main Street Burger Bar.

Along the walk to the burger bar, someone found the perfect way to advertise tacos.

After stuffing ourselves, we continued to Surfers Paradise and our 53rd-floor rental.

Now we’re relaxing and about to cut into an ice cream cake. Because we’re all adults and can have ice cream cake whenever we want!
